Manchester United Football Club continued their push to grab the lead from Liverpool in the EPL – English Premier League with a win over Wigan Athletic last night with the football match score of 1-0. The win takes Man U past Chelsea at second place and is only two pints behind Liverpool. The Red’s next game will be a Merseyside derby with Everton but the match shall be played on Monday, giving United the chane to overtake the leaders as they go to the Reebok Stadium to face Bolton Wanderers this coming Saturday.

After beating Chelsea Football club 3-0 in one of last Sunday football results, United played one of their matches they have on hand and finally recorded the win after Wayne Rooney scored in a tap in from a Cristiano Ronaldo assist at the first minute. Wigan tried to look for the tying goal throughout the match but failed to breakdown the United defense which surprisingly, held its own despite the absence of central defender Rio Ferdinand who continues to suffer from a back injury, defender Wes Brown who still has two weeks to go before he gets back to the side after ankle surgery and left back Patrice Evra, who suffered a foot injury right after the match against Chelsea and has been ruled out of future United games for three weeks. He actually injured his foot when he delivered the cross that  Rooney turned into a goal. It was such an unfortunate stroke of luck for Evra who just returned to the side after being suspended for four games for his participation in  an incident after a match against Chelsea  last April.

It shall be a big loss for Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United Football Club’s title aspirations as in form striker  Rooney might possibly join the list of injured players. He suffered a hamstring injury during last night’s game and could possibly be missing in action for three weeks. He scored the winnning goal but imped out of the game moments later and Carlos Tevez was sent in for Rooney’s place. Ferguson hopes though that  Ronaldo’s recovery from surgery and his recent triumph as FIFA’s Word Player of The Year shall be enough for the winger to continue his progress and be the dominant player like he was during the last season.

The controversial Tevez  can benefit from Rooney’s expected absence as he shall fill up the other striker’s position in partnership with Dimitar Berbatov. Recent reports in English papers have said that the South American striker is unsettled and wishes to leave United. But Tevez personally debunked these reports himself and insists that United manager Ferguson has not talked to him or his agent to start contract negotiations. Tevez joined Manchester from West Ham United on a two year loan that is due to expire this summer. And he desperately wants to make the move permanent.

Wigan gave a good account of themselves during the match. Emile Heskey and Wilson Palacios were constantly pressing for opportunties. Wigan manager Steve Bruce’s prized find Amir Zaki was kept quiet by the United defense. The loss however did not affect Wigan’s place in the team standings as they are still in seventh place.

  • With a horrifying injury to their most clinical finisher in the team and a heartbreaking last minute draw with Birmingham, the odds look increasingly stacked against Arsenal in their bid to reclaim the English Premier League title from arch rivals Manchester United. Injuries have taken their toll on the team, leading to inconsistent form and play on the field. Results have suffered tremendously as a result and despite establishing a five point lead at the top of the league just 2 weeks ago, this lead has now quickly been reduced to three points after the past weekend’s matches. The players continue to lose their composure on and off the field, with uncharacteristic fights and shocking misses in front of goal.

As their fortunes keep plummeting, manager Arsene Wenger struggles to find a solution to all their problems. While some sympathize with Arsenal and attribute much of their crisis to pure luck, part of the fault lies with the club management not to invest heavily on extra players for greater strength in depth. It is true that many of Arsenal’s young players have great potential and talent, but the early season honeymoon is well and truly over, and the lack of experience and fitness have started to take their toll on willing spirits but unwilling legs.

The transfer window has also long gone, and Wenger might have to dig deeper into the psychological recesses of his protégés to extract miraculous performances for the rest of their season. Their UEFA Champions League hopes also hang in the balance after missing their chance to put incumbent champions AC Milan away in their home tie. With so many obstacles in their way and flagging resources, it might be solely up to Arsene Wenger to find a way out of this crisis. The fans and management of Arsenal have put their faith and hope in the Professor for many years, and will continue to do so. If the club manages to pull this one out of the hat this season, it would be one of Arsene Wenger’s greatest, if not the greatest, achievements in his long and illustrious career.

  • The world game football known, as soccer in America and football in England is a game that has so many emotions involved be it as a spectator or a player. It is comparable to baseball in the US, or hockey in Canada when it comes to the following of the game in Europe and South America. The popularity of the sport is growing in America. With the arrival of David Beckham playing for LA GALAXY the exposure of soccer in America can only be good for the country and the sport itself. The world will see how competitive the league is and other players worldwide will be more open minded to playing in this country.

As we known David Beckham played in Spain for Real Madrid and Manchester United in England. Myself being are soccer lover and not living in England and love watching the English Premier League it can at times be hard to follow your team unless you can watch them live on your television or computer. There are software programs that let you watch live sports on your computer such as soccer; baseball, basketball, American football, golf, hockey and so many other sports live for a one off lifetime fee. It does not matter if the game is played in America or whichever countries you can get to see the game live if you have the correct software.

I follow Liverpool so when it came to David Beckhams Manchester United I loved nothing more then beating them along with Arsenal. Chelsea are beginning to create a great rivalry and off course beating our hometown rival Everton is a great feeling. So being able to watch them live on my computer is great entertainment.

Be it the English Premier League, FA Cup, Championship League, Spanish Primera Liga, Italian Serie A I love watching the world game. Watching my favorite player Steven Gerrard in full flight playing for Liverpool is and amazing experience. I hope he stays at Liverpool until he decides to retire many years from now. Liverpool winning the FA Cup last year was sensational with Gerrard showing the way and what about the Championship League Final being 3 nil down at half time and end up winning. That was one of the most remarkable comebacks of all time. There is one thing missing for the past decade when it comes to Liverpool and that is winning the English Premier League title.

Following soccer is a game of extremes you can be so dominate and still lose all it takes is that one mistake or that one chance and the result can be totally different then you expect. It’s a game where you have your heart in your mouth so to speak and I would not have it another way. I am grateful I can watch it live on my computer with family and friends.

  • The current second place of the English Premier League and 18-times Premier League champions, Liverpool, defeated in a whipping victory of 5-0 to Aston Villa. This triumph places Liverpool just one point behind the current English Premier League champion, Manchester United, who lost in week 30 against Fulham 2-0. This defeat of Manchester United is their second consecutive loss as they were beaten by Liverpool 4-1 the week before.

It has to be mentioned that weeks ago Liverpool seemed almost an impossible contender to battle for the Premier League title, but after they defeated Real Madrid and Manchester United, 4-0 and 4-1 respectively with a complete change of game, the team was revived with confidence.

During the game against Aston Villa, Liverpool was handling the game extremely well and was energetic from the beginning through the end. The players were passing the ball in great way and opening the gaps to encounter great plays. Moreover, Liverpool’s defense was tough and Aston Villa was not able to pass through it.  By playing this great football, Liverpool opened the score in hands of Dirk Kuyt at minute 7 and then Albert Riera scored at minute 32. From then on, Gerrard took over by scoring three more goals; two from penalties at minute 39 and 65 respectively, and then the other one in a free kick at the edge of the area at minute 49. With this amount of goals, Aston Villa seemed defenceless and was unable to play their football.

With this astonishing win, Liverpool added a total of 64 points at second place ahead of Chelsea by three points and behind Manchester United, who is currently at the top just within one point with 65 points.

Having these last results, Liverpool is well-motivated and completely confident on their football and their players, and with eight games left in the Premier League, they’re willing to give everything they have in order to catch United and they will be playing each game as it was a cup final, as their coach Benitez told advised them. The Reds’ captain Steven Gerrard expressed that his team is just waiting for United to make mistakes and they will take advantage of it to jump the top spot. In the meantime, Liverpool will keep pressuring United and will focus on playing one game at the time. But they are not resting on their laurels for their current results, since they know United are capable of winning the remaining 8 games, so they have to remain very concentrated and hope for the best for the next weeks.

“I think it is important not to get carried away. They are capable of winning all their remaining games. It is important we focus on what we’re doing and keep winning, keep on their shoulders, keep piling that pressure on them and whilst they are going into games knowing we are ready to pounce on any mistakes that they make it will be more difficult for them,” expressed Gerrard.

The next game for Liverpool in the English Premier League will be against Fulham on April 4th after the two-week break for international fixtures. We hope for the battle for the Premier League to continue so we can keep enjoying the excitement of one of the elite football leagues in Europe.

  • The next time you want to make a purchase for any English Premier League merchandise, pause and think for a while. Think about where you can find the merchandise with the best quality and prices. What comes to mind? Unless you’ve been exiled to some god-forsaken island to live for the past ten years, you should have already thought about hunting for bargains on the Internet.

The Internet is a huge place, so not every website offers the right deals if you’re looking for bargains. The best places to look for bargains on the Internet are auction sites. That’s because all auction sites started by allowing sellers to sell their unwanted merchandise cheaply. The lure of auctions is that potential buyers have the chance of buying something way below the actual retail price, making auctions an interesting and exciting way to buy something at a very low price.

So the mentality of buyers is one that is looking for top notch bargains. For the same reasons, it is almost impossible to try and sell something at a really high price unless it’s something that’s very rare or exclusive, like an antique pen or a sandwich that looks like a saint.

Most merchants on auction sites are already very familiar with this mentality, so it is not uncommon for them to put up merchandise in good condition to be auctioned away, starting with low bids. And here is where the English Premier League fan can really take full advantage of the number of great deals available on these auction sites.

You see, sometimes, people sell stuff they don’t want for many different reasons. Some may auction off their football items collection simply because the collection is growing too big. Others do it for a profit. While some simply grow tired of the team they are supporting, and wants to have a switch. For whatever the reason, the important thing that really matters is that the sellers now do not want the merchandise anymore, and are more than happy to get rid of them, even if it meant selling them away at low prices.

But here’s a quick tip on how to capitalize on the deal if you’re made a bid. Never get into a bidding war with someone else. You do not know their intentions for bidding for that item. If they want the item more badly than you do, they are also more likely to try and outbid you. In this case, no one wins, except maybe the seller. Whoever wins the bid ends up paying a much higher price, and whoever loses the bid ends up with nothing. So it’s important to always have a cut off point. That means having a maximum bid in your mind. If it goes beyond your maximum bid, simply stop bidding. Remember, bids have no ceiling. It’s possible to keep bidding and bidding until the prices sky rocket and blow out of proportions. So be wise, and stay prudent.

Armed with these tips in mind, you should now be more confident of sourcing for English Premier League merchandise at auction sites. Good luck!
